Dr. Roland Rios, Director of Technology
​

Dr. Roland Rios currently serves as the Director of Technology for the Ft. Sam Houston Independent School District. During his nearly 30 year career in education, he has been a math teacher, high school assistant principal, and middle and high school principal. He also serves as Past President of the Texas Computer Education Association. In 2012, he was named the “TCEA Technology Administrator of the Year” for Texas and was also named one of TechSmith’s “20 to Watch in Educational Technology” for the U.S.

When not enjoying time with his family, Roland enjoys performing community service, taking photos and playing the guitar and ukulele really badly. You can follow him on Twitter at @drrios.

Mr. Wacey Tobler​, Secondary Digital Learning Coach
​

Wacey Tobler is the Secondary Digital Learning Coach for Fort Sam Houston ISD. He previously served as a digital learning coach in the Hays COnsoilidated School District. After spending 8 years in the secondary ELAR classroom, he received his Masters in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas in August of 2018.

 

His  growing understanding of instructional technology and its need in K-12 education has put him on a quest to integrate as many 21st century skills and tools into teachers’ classrooms as he can. When not at work, Wacey likes to spend time hiking, running, and listening to music with his beautiful wife Jessica and two year old daughter Olivia.

Ms. Jeannine Freeman, Elementary Digital Learning Coach
​

Jeannine Freeman is the Elementary Digital Learning Coach for Fort Sam Houston ISD. This is her 10th year in education.  She has previously worked as a director of digital learning, district instructional technology specialist and a first grade teacher.  Jeannine earned her M.Ed. in Educational Technology from the University of Texas at Brownsville.  Additionally, she has Master Technology Teacher, ESL, and Special Education certificates. 

        

Jeannine is a recent recipient of the International Society for Technology in Education's Making IT Happen award.  She is currently serving as the President of TEC-SIG, a special interest group in TCEA for technology coordinators.  

 

In her free time, Jeannine enjoys watching entire series on Netflix, country dancing, spending time with her 4 nieces and nephews, and relaxing with friends and family.
